St. Thomas More School
Extended Care Program
General Information Sheet
The STM Extended Day Program is designed to be supervisory only and not a tutoring program. Every family is required to register for the extended day care program at St. Thomas More School, so emergency information is available when the school office is closed. STM Extended Care hours are from dismissal to 6:00 PM.
ENROLLMENT: Child must be enrolled at Saint Thomas More Elementary School. All required forms must be completed and signed before the student is allowed to attend. It is the parents/guardian responsibility to certify that all information is correct and to update information as needed.
All fees are payable in advance. Monthly tuition fees shall be paid on the first calendar day of the month in which services are provided. Fees not paid by the fifth day of the month will incur a fee of $5.00 per day. Weekly fees not paid on the first day in which services are provided, will incur the drop-in rate. Fees not paid may result in denial of entry, until paid in full. Paid receipts will be issued for cash payments only.
LATE PICK UP FEES: If a child is not picked up from Extended Care by 6:00 p.m., the parent/guardian and all authorized persons on the child’s emergency card will be contacted. An additional fee of $20 per quarter-hour, or any fraction thereof, will be charged and payable upon pick up. If all authorized persons are not available, the authorities will be contacted to pick up your child. If the child is picked up late more than three times in a 60-day period, dismissal from Extended Care may result.
DAILY SCHEUDLE: The Extended Care Program offers a snack at 3:30 p.m. followed by Outside Play. At 4:00 p.m., children are escorted to the classroom assigned by age/grade for a 60-minute homework and study period. At 5:00 p.m., the children then proceed outside for physical activity and or arts and crafts. Children complete their time inside for games, videos and/or art activities.
SIGN IN/OUT: An employee of the Extended Care Program will sign your child in. An authorized person listed on the emergency card will sign the child out. Emergency contacts listed must be at least 18 years of age and must be prepared to show a photo I.D. If authorized contact is under 18 years of age, a note from parent/guardian granting permission must be on file. We ask that you sign your child out at the desk and inform a staff member of your departure. Full signature is required. We require copies of court restraining orders concerning your child.
AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES: Children participating in an after school activity must have the authorization from parent/guardian stating activity, times and dates. Students must check in with the Extended Care Director before attending the activity.
