Welcome to Kindergarten! I am very excited to begin a new school teaching all your children many new and wonderful things.

This year your children will be learning about God's love for everyone and how to show His love to others. They will find out that God created this wonderful world for us and how we should take care of all His creations. They will learn about the Liturgical seasons, Holy days, and special holidays as well.

Reading is my favorite subject! I hope it is yours, too. In this class the children will be exposed to many books and to good reading habits. They will be completing monthly reading logs with their parents. We will be working very hard with the letters of the alphabet, letter sounds, and sight words. Our goal is to learn 100 sight words by the end of the year!

Math is another fun subject. The children will be learning number senses, shapes (Geometry), measurements, addition, and subtraction skills just to name a few areas of learning.

As you can see  we will be busy all year long. Hope you are ready for a busy but fun year!

Mrs. Perez
